Microsoft Performs Mass Xbox Console Banning
Here's a Halloween surprise you probably weren't expecting.

October 30, 2009 - Wake up this morning only to find your Xbox Live account has been banned? That's probably because you had a modded console and were playing illegal, pirated copies of games.

"We have taken action against a small percentage of consoles that have been modified to play pirated game discs," a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. "In line with our commitment to combat piracy and support safer and more secure gameplay for the more than 20 million members of our Xbox LIVE community, we are suspending these modded consoles from Xbox LIVE."

Though Microsoft wouldn't confirm specifically when these bannings took place, a quick look over on its official forums suggest it's been going on over the course of this past week. Plenty of users have created threads on the technical feedback forum reporting of having their Xbox 360 console banned.

Microsoft also added this is a standing policy and isn't tied to any specific time-frame.

"All consumers should know that piracy is illegal and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs violates the Xbox LIVE terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox LIVE," the spokesperson added. "The health of the video game business depends on customers paying for the genuine products and services they receive from manufacturers, retailers, and the third parties that support them."

改过机的，只要你曾经上过live，都可以自求多福了。

就目前的情况来看，不管你固件是啥版本，有没有用过live联机，只要你上过live，玩过盗版。你就完全有可能被ban，所以这几天拔网线也是掩耳盗铃了，还是自求多福吧。

Cases:
Case 1:  1.51 FW. Banned.  Friend of

Case 2: <gamerscom> modded twice with console power, played borderlands, buddy played borderlands with same release and is fine. running 1.51, banned by 9:30 this morning when I tried to get on. no one else seemed to be banned when I checked fw. came back later and the place was in a riot with people getting banned. looks like there doing it in different time chunks. I dont play any games before release dates
Case 3: <igiddyuup>  I have a friend what was banned. NOt sure which drive he has (either benq or lite-on) with 1.6 The most recent games he played where madden, odst, and nba 2k10


Case 4:  <KevinD> just checking in to report a ban. no pre-release, all wave 2/3. ixtreme 1.6 all games full stealth with abgx cod4/cod:waw/halo3/odst/halo3:mythic/ufc 2009 were the only games i played

Case 5: <[tk]> I got banned this afternoon, using LiteOn with 1.6 only played CoD 4 and HAWX on live retail HDD and both cds still pass abgx verification
<[tk]> I've never played a game pre-release and Ive only played verified games on this console

Case 6: B-Z Have a box that was just banned XBOX 360 Elite

Case 7: BANNED <+sta0g> been playing nothing but madden 10
<+sta0g> since august


Case 8: <GameFroze> i just put in retail game hoping to get unban.. lol fu M$ BANNED

Case 9: <CorteX`> a mate of mine just modded his box a few hours ago, went on live with a stealth checked copy of gears of war 2 and got banned just now, it was the only copied game he player online so far ! how is that for confirmation.. i'm telling you they can somehow detect modified firmwares now.. BANNED

反正不上LIVE，单机玩着挺好。

我没上过LIVE

3公主只是没盗版盘罢了...
记得能用W娘去联网街霸什么的..
