Lilith, I  did not get what you mean.

Anyway, I am a Chinese living in Hong Kong. The reason why I often use English in my posts, is simply because I was tired  . Typing Chinese using Pinyin is a bit slow, sometimes, but can help you to write in a more formal language. but  it makes me fell tired. I have just finished a long article in my blog and I wanna take a rest. Sometimes if the system switched to English typing already, I may contnue to type instead of pressing Ctrl+Space, as I am so lazy....

um... i was born in Singapore and raised by some wacky hippie stepdad from Ireland so... doesn't really make a difference to me which of the two languages to use.

i don't mind typing Chinese at all cuz i speak Mandarin and i understand pinyin reasonably well. the only time when i wish i could just switch back to English is when i have to explain some really difficult concepts like Islamic fundamentalism in the other thread and i'll be scratching my head trying to figure out how to express myself in Chinese because i feel Chinese is a somewhat less symbolic language than English, and i'll be having a hard time trying to come up with the right Chinese equivalents. so what i do sometimes is write down what i'm about to say in English, then translate it to Chinese. i know it doesn't make any sense but... that's how i am so bear with me.
